Slovenia Jobless Rate at 3.2% in May

Slovenia's unemployment rate came in at 3.2% at the end of May, down from 3.3% in April, according to data from the Statistics Bureau of Slovenia (SURS).

There were 33,000 unemployed persons in the age group 15-74 in April, of whom 46% were men and 54% were women.

In May, the unemployment rate among men was 2.8% and among women was 3.8%.

In a separate report, the Ljubljana-based statistics agency said that Slovenia's retail sales turnover declined by 1% on a monthly comparison basis in May after falling by the same rate in April.

In annual terms, retail sales decreased by 0.5% in May, after declining 0.3% in April.
