Wizz Air Returns to Profit

Hungarian low-fare carrier Wizz Air booked a EUR 365.9 million profit for its business year ended March 31, state news wire MTI writes, citing an earnings report released on Thursday.

Wizz Air had losses of EUR 535.1 mln in the previous business year.

Revenue jumped 30% to EUR 5.073 bln as passenger numbers climbed 21,015,792.

Wizz Air had a positive EBITDA of EUR 1.193 bln, improving from EUR 134.3 mln in the base period.

The airline finished the period with a liquidity balance of EUR 1.589 bln.

CEO József Váradi put net profit for the business year started April 1 in a range between EUR 500 mln and EUR 600 mln.
