2 Major Ground Handlers at Budapest Airport Join Forces

As part of their development strategy, Airport Service Budapest Zrt. (AS Budapest) and Menzies Aviation Limited will join forces as one company, providing ground handling, cargo, and lounge services at Ferenc Liszt International Airport. The transaction is to be authorized by the Competition Authority. 

With the transaction AS Budapest will acquire ownership in Menzies Aviation Hungary Kft. The transaction involves the transfer of contracts and assets of AS Budapest to the Company. The Company also intends to employ AS Budapest’s highly experienced employees. 

AS Budapest is the ground handling company for several major airlines at Ferenc Liszt International Airport. Its scope of activities includes passenger-, air cargo- and aircraft handling, as well as providing aviation security and other airport services, such as the operation of the Skycourt Lounge. 

Menzies Aviation Hungary Kft. has a long track record in ground handling, with an international background being part of Menzies Aviation, the world’s largest aviation services provider by countries, airports and aircraft turns.

With this transaction, Menzies Aviation Limited intends to provide more efficient and competitive services, as well as increase the comfort and satisfaction of passengers arriving in Budapest, Hungary, the company tells the Budapest Business Journal.
