Lőrinc Mészáros, the gas fitter-turned-billionaire investor who was a key ally of former Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and made the vast bulk of his fortune after Fidesz returned to power in 2010, remained the wealthiest Hungarian: his fortune climbed 13% to HUF 1.604 tln. He was followed by OTP Bank chairman Sándor Csányi with HUF 935 bln, and Zsolt Felcsuti, the major shareholder and CEO of MPF Industry Group, at HUF 594 bln.
New names have joined the list, including Tibor Pavelka (a Hungarian physicist, entrepreneur, and technology executive, best known as the founder and longtime leader of Semilab Zrt.), who debuted in 10th place with HUF 309 bln, and Ernő and Zsolt Barabás, owners of Hell Energy, who entered in 14th place with HUF 189.9 bln.
The report notes strong performance in financial services in 2025, while construction weakened and logistics shifted toward intermodal and infrastructure-driven models.
The influence ranking also saw major changes, with Prime Minister Péter Magyar rising from 17th to 1st place after becoming prime minister.
