Ministry Drafts Decree on Stricter Emissions Thresholds
The Energy Affairs Ministry has drafted a decree that would lower industrial emissions thresholds and initiated talks on the changes with the National Environmental Protection Council and the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK), the ministry said on Wednesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Taking a cue from Germany, the new thresholds would be the strictest in the European Union, the ministry said.
The draft decree has been posted on the ministry's website for social consultations.
