Hungary greenhouse gas emissions in employment under EU avg

The volume of greenhouse gas emissions in Hungary per employed person stood at 11 tonnes in 2020, under the European Union average of 13.6 tonnes, state news wire MTI reports citing data compiled by Eurostat on Earth Day.

In a regional comparison, greenhouse gas emissions per employed person stood at 18.2 tonnes in the Czech Republic, 20.9 tonnes in Poland and 13.1 tonnes in Slovakia.

In absolute terms, Hungary produced 51.3 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions in 2020, under the 97.1 million tonnes produced in the Czech Republic and the 343.1 million tonnes in Poland, but over the 31.4 million tonnes in Slovakia.

Greenhouse gas emissions for the EU as a whole came to 2.81 billion tonnes.
