Hungary could save 16% of its annual energy consumption if all energy-obsolete residential and public buildings were modernized, writes Másfélfok, emphasizing that the indicators for buildings in Hungary are among the worst in the EU.
According to the organization, the climate-adjusted heating demand of domestic households is currently 1.6 times the European Union average.
Másfélfok pointed out that after the energy and renovation plan, the solution would be for all buildings to undergo deep renovation by replacing windows and doors, replacing the thermal insulation and modernizing the heating system.
The cost of deep renovation in the case of an average family house would be up to HUF 12 million.
