Listed Hungarian hauler Waberer's International yesterday announced the purchase of a 57,000 sqm plot of land in an industrial zone in Debrecen (225 km east of Budapest), according to an announcement on the website of the Budapest Stock Exchange.
Waberer's had earlier announced plans to build a more than 20,000 sqm logistics center at the site.
The center, set to be completed in H2 2025, will allow Waberer's to meet the logistical needs of significant automotive projects under construction in the Debrecen area as well as their related suppliers, the hauler said earlier this week.
German automaker BMW and Chinese battery manufacturer CATL are building big plants in Debrecen.
