The schedule includes a new Wizz Air route to Marsa Alam, expanded connections to the United Kingdom and more frequent flights to China and Scandinavia.
Capacity growth is primarily driven by additional frequencies on popular existing routes, according to Budapest Airport. The winter timetable took effect with the seasonal clock change, which marks the end of aviation’s summer schedule.
Daily Flights to Shanghai and Beijing
Budapest’s connections to China will become more frequent during the winter season, with daily services linking the Hungarian capital to Shanghai and Beijing.
Direct flights between Guangzhou and Budapest will operate three times a week. The airport said its Asian connections also provide onward travel options to destinations across Southeast Asia.
Scandinavian Seat Capacity Rises 35%
The number of seats available between Budapest and Scandinavia will increase by 35% compared with the previous winter season.
Wizz Air will operate four weekly flights to Oslo. SAS Scandinavian Airlines will offer two daily flights between Copenhagen and Budapest on several days in November and December.
Elsewhere in Europe, available seats to Poland will rise 50% year-on-year. Capacity to the Baltic region will increase by 7.4%, while seats on routes to Spain will grow by 12%.
The additional capacity offers more options for city breaks and visits to Christmas markets during the festive season.
EasyJet Adds Four U.K. Routes
EasyJet is launching services connecting Budapest with Belfast, Bristol, Liverpool and London Southend.
The London Southend route will operate year-round. The Belfast, Bristol and Liverpool services will run twice weekly from mid-November through the end of December.
Budapest Airport said the expanded UK connections would primarily support inbound travel during the holiday season while also providing additional options for passengers departing Hungary.
With these additions, easyJet’s Budapest network will have grown from three to 11 routes over three years.
Wizz Air Adds Marsa Alam
Wizz Air’s new service to Marsa Alam expands Budapest Airport’s winter sun offering.
Located on Egypt’s western Red Sea coast, the destination offers beach holidays, diving, sea turtle watching and desert safaris, providing an alternative for travelers seeking warmer weather during the Hungarian winter.
