Opposition party LMP would give all civil service workers an inflation-tracking wage increase, according to hrportal.hu.
Inflation is already over 20%, and food prices have suffered the most, said Máté Kanász-Nagy, the deputy leader of the parliamentary faction of the opposition party.
The situation is worst for those who cannot take on a second job or extra work, who are typically public service workers, he said.
According to LMP's proposal, in the case of workers in the social sector, education, healthcare, and state administration, on January 1 and July 1 of each year, wage correction equal to the rate of inflation must be established, and the wages of all public service workers must be increased accordingly.
