InnoEnergy hosts PowerUp! Country Final in Budapest

The Country Final of PowerUp! 2019, the fifth edition of the competition for startups working on sustainable energy, organized in 24 Central and East European countries, takes place on Wednesday, April 10, at the Ankerʼt courtyard pub in Budapest, according to the Facebook event page.

The aim of the competition is to select and accelerate the best startups from the CEE region in the field of sustainable energy. Winners will receive financial prizes, as well as access to a prestigious accelerator called Highway by InnoEnergy, transforming ideas and projects into market reality, says the Facebook event page.

During the national final of the competition in Hungary, guests will have the opportunity to get to know the countryʼs best startups and the latest trends in energy, smart cities, mobility and clean technologies. Each team will have the opportunity to present their product or service within a four-minute pitch/presentation to an expert jury and the audience.

Registration for the event begins at 5.30 p.m., with an opening speech at 6 p.m., followed by the finalistsʼ pitches. The award ceremony will be followed by cocktails and networking until 10 p.m.

The language of the event is English. Ankerʼt is located just off Andrássy út in District 6, at Paulay u 33.

EIT InnoEnergy describes itself as "the European company dedicated to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and education in the sustainable energy field."

Co-host Startup Campus is billed as "a decentralized global incubator with several interlaced locations that help to accelerate the global expansion process of startups and to create a close connection with the ecosystems."

The overall winner of the regional contest will be selected on May 21 at the Grand Final in Kraków, Poland, during Impactʼ19 - the biggest economic event in the CEE region. More details can be found on the official website here.
