Orbán declares “breakthrough” in Arab-Hungarian relations

Visits

Arab-Hungarian relations have seen a breakthrough, and “this is expected to show up in major business cooperation soon,” Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told media in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, today. Hungary welcomes investors from Saudi Arabia, Orbán said during a visit to the country, promising that “there is money to be made in central Europe these days.”

Hungary wants to sell its products on the Saudi Arabian market, said the PM after holding talks with Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud, the heir to the throne; Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, the second deputy prime minister; and Abdel-Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States.

Orbán further informed media that he had discussed with Prince Salman the possibility of joint Saudi-Hungarian investments using Hungarian technology in the Middle East country.

The PM is accompanied on the official visit to Saudi Arabia by National Economy Minister Mihály Varga, Human Resources Minister Zoltán Balog and over 100 Hungarian business leaders.
