Hungary's presidency of the Council of the European Union will draft a new European competitiveness pact, EU Affairs Minister János Bóka said at a conference in Budapest on Thursday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Bóka said an informal meeting of the Council in Hungary slated for November could affirm the pact and designate the direction for the EU in the coming five-year institutional cycle.

Hungary will organize 230 events during its half-year EU presidency starting July 1.

The detailed program will be announced on June 18.
