Report: Honey harvest can top 20,000 tons
Honey harvest in Hungary is foreseen to reach approximately 20,000 tons this year, some 1,000 tons more than last year, Hungarian economy daily Napi Gazdaság reported yesterday.
László Mészáros, who heads national beekeepers association OMME, told the paper that the estimate was based on a survey of about 10% of bee stocks. The paper noted that approximately three-fourths of Hungarian honey is exported.
