Hungaryʼs PMI falls to 54.2 in July
Hungaryʼs seasonally adjusted Purchasing Managersʼ Index (PMI) stood at 54.2 points in July, slipping from 56.9 in June, the Hungarian Association of Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Management (Halpim), which compiles the index, said on Tuesday, as reported by state news agency MTI.
An index value above 50 shows expansion in the manufacturing sector, while a value under 50 signals contraction.
Among the sub-indices that comprise the PMI, the new orders index fell at a faster pace than in June, but still remained over the 50 threshold. The production volume index also fell, but continued to show expansion.
The employment index dropped, but was still over the 50 mark.
Delivery times were shorter in July. Purchased inventories rose for the seventh month in a row, but at a slower pace.
