Hungarian steel maker ISD Dunaferr will start the renovation of one of its two smelting furnaces in Dunaújváros this week, company head Evgeny Tankhilevich announced on Saturday. The renovation is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year, and is expected to cost between HUF 3 billion-4 billion, spokesman András Mezőközy told MTI. The furnace was last renovated at a cost of €10 million in 2006. The company will go on with the modernisation of its rolling mills too, Tankhilevich added. Also on Saturday, the group’s ISD Kokszoló inaugurated a €10 million biological water treatment facility. The facility was designed by the Croatian company Ekoloski Inzenjering which also supplied the micro-organism cultures to the plant.
