The evaluation of applications under the scheme is nearing completion, with more than 600 contractor companies involved in the projects nationwide, the ministry said.

As a result of the program, the number of residential solar panel installations in Hungary is expected to surpass 300,000 in the coming months.

These systems have a combined installed capacity of nearly 2,700 MW, already making up more than one-third of the country’s total photovoltaic capacity, it added.

The year-long scheme allowed households to apply for up to HUF 5 mln in support, covering two-thirds of the investment costs.
