Evaluation of the applications in the scheme is approaching completion.

More than 600 contractor companies have been involved in the developments across the country, the ministry said, according to MTI.

As a result of the scheme, the number of residential solar panels will exceed 300,000 in Hungary in a few months.

These have installed capacity of close to 2,700 MW, already accounting for more than a third of the country’s total photovoltaic capacity, it added.

Under the year-long scheme, households could apply for up to HUF 5 mln in support, covering two-thirds of investment cost.
