MET Acquiring Majority Stake in Achema Group
The Swiss-based MET Group, which has Hungarian roots, has announced that it is interested in acquiring a 54.07% stake in the shares of the Lithuanian UAB concern Achemos Grupė, according to profitline.hu.
Achemos is the leading manufacturer of nitrogen fertilizers and chemical products in the Baltic region.
The transaction would result in significant value creation by combining the two companies' strengths.
The Achemos Grupė is an ideal partner for MET's further expansion plans, the firm says: The target is an excellent company with experienced managers and a well-trained workforce, and it perfectly complements the value chain MET covers.
