According to a statement from his ministry, Szijjártó said the feasibility study for the project has been completed.

It determined that approximately 180 km of pipeline needs to be built in Hungary and 120 km in Serbia, with an annual capacity of around five million tonnes.

“In Hungary, this will involve construction along the Százhalombatta-Algyő-Röszke route, with an international measuring station also required,” he explained.

He added that the Hungarian side of the project will require an estimated investment of EUR 320 million, with a three-year projected completion timeline. Negotiations are currently underway to finalize a contract ensuring the pipeline’s utilization.
