Production started at another well that uses alternative extraction technology at a gas field on the outskirts of Sarkad on Thursday, according to an announcement by the Energy Affairs Ministry.

The fourth well at the Nyékpuszta field was spudded in the framework of the Corvinus Project, a scheme undertaken by a joint venture established with state-owned energy group MVM to boost domestic gas production.

The first three wells at the site have so far produced 46 million cubic meters of gas and 56,000 cubic meters of condensate. The first Nyékpuszta well started operating in February 2023.
