The frequency specification and radio license are expected to be issued later this week. Vodafone took the “C” and “G” packages or 31% of the frequencies on offer for a total of HUF 30.2 bln. It promised to reach 81.64% nationwide coverage within three years. On September 29, NMHH announced four winners at a frequency tender for blocks in the new 800 MHz and 2,600 MHz frequency bands as well as bandwidth in the existing 900 MHz, 1,800 MHz and 26 GHz frequencies. The winners are Hungary’s three incumbents – Magyar Telekom, Telenor and Vodafone, and Digi Távközlési as a newcomer.
