Vodafone acknowledged the impact of telecommuting and digital learning because of the pandemic on mobile data traffic.
The telco said subscribers' data traffic peaked in the second week of December, climbing 63% from the same period a year earlier. Around the Christmas holiday, subscribers used 1.2 billion MB of their mobile data plans, up from 764 million MB a year earlier. Subscribers sent 18% fewer text messages last year, Vodafone said. The number of voice calls edged down 2%, but subscribers talked 14% longer.
