4iG said it had committed under the MoU to make mobile and fixed network investments of HUF 150 billion in Hungary by 2028, bringing gigabit-capable networks to an additional 1.1 million households.
It also pledged to make broadband internet and high-definition television services available to "nearly 100%" of the population and to deploy high-capacity 5G technology in Budapest and its environs, in county seats and along major transport routes.
For its part, the government will abolish the obligation to pay the utility tax on communications operators from Jan. 1, 202 4, and the duty to pay the telecommunications surcharge on communications operators from Jan. 1, 2025, 4iG said.
