The partnership establishes the framework for a long-term strategic collaboration between the two companies, aimed primarily at serving defense, security and other specialized state users.
Beyond commercial representation, the agreement also opens the door to broader industrial cooperation in Hungary, 4iG SDT says. The parties will examine opportunities for local component manufacturing, full vehicle production and assembly, lifecycle support solutions and maintenance services. These activities could rely on the manufacturing capacities of Rába Járműipari Holding, which is expected to come under the majority ownership of 4iG SDT in early January 2026, subject to the fulfillment of closing conditions.
The cooperation could also enable 4iG SDT to participate in the production of complete Tatra vehicles, not only components and subsystems, and to prepare joint development and market projects, potentially extending beyond Hungary. In the longer term, the companies aim for Rába, which has a 129-year history, to become Tatra’s second-largest manufacturing and development center in Europe, serving the Central European region.
Tatra Trucks is majority owned (65%) by the Czechoslovak Group (CSG), one of Central and Eastern Europe’s most significant and fastest-growing private defense and industrial-technology groups. CSG operates manufacturing and development capacities in more than 10 countries and is active in land systems, ammunition production, vehicle manufacturing and specialized defense solutions.
For 4iG SDT, the exclusive agreement aligns with the broader strategy of the 4iG Group to cooperate with international technology partners to bring modern, NATO-compatible defense solutions to the Hungarian market, while strengthening the country’s role in the regional defense industrial value chain.
The partnership is also a key project within 4iG SDT’s land systems business, supporting the development of a comprehensive defense industry portfolio spanning land, air and space capabilities.
