The proportion of respondents who expect AI to reduce the need for human labor dropped from 80% last September to 59% this year, while 27% now believe the workforce required will remain roughly the same.

Meanwhile, those who see AI making work easier and more efficient rose slightly, from 72% to 74%.

The BNP Paribas Cardif Labor Market Stability Index recorded 76 points in the third quarter of this year, showing only a slight decline from the same period in 2024.

Job security sentiment remained essentially unchanged, with 73% of respondents believing their employer would continue to operate for at least five years, down just three percentage points.

However, the share of those expecting their employer to last only two or three years rose from 6% to 10%.
