Planet Bootcamp: a startup contest for a livable planet
Blue Planet Foundation and Design Terminal have teamed up once again with startups and large corporations to take action for the planet’s sustainability. Following last year’s successful Aquathon, a competition to the problem of the global water crisis, Planet Bootcamp is looking for the best answers to the challenges of the circular economy.
During the three-day innovation program, expert mentors help startups with workshops and individual mentoring to find real solutions to real enterprise challenges. The large corporations taking part in the program are ALTEO, BMW, MOL Hungary, Nestlé Hungária and Vajda Papír.
The challenges identified by the program's corporate partners include reducing the environmentally harmful and costly use of virgin plastics, increasing the use of raw materials and packaging with a lower environmental footprint, and encouraging customers to recycle and get involved in these processes.
In addition to product development, participanting startups can gain market validation and even capital investment to help them grow rapidly.
The aim of the competition is to give impetus to collaborations between leading Hungarian corporations and emerging startups, organizers say.
The bootcamp will be organised on November 16-17 with a closing Demo Day on November 18. Application is open until November 7.
