The state rent subsidy programs starting in the spring can contribute to the cleaning of the sublet market, according to László Balogh, the economic expert of ingatlan.com.

The condition of the state-supported programs is that the landlords must have a tax number, and they must issue a personal invoice for the rent, he added.

Registered jobseekers can apply for housing support for six months from March 18, if the new workplace is located at least 60 kilometers from their place of residence.

The amount of this can be 70% of the minimum wage, i.e. HUF 186,760 per month, Balogh explained.
