Investment Accounts for 27% of Home Purchases

According to an analysis by real estate broker Duna House, investment buyers accounted for 27% of all home purchases in Hungary last year, writes the business daily Világgazdaság.

The rate was higher than 30% in Zalaegerszeg (215 km southwest of Budapest), Tatabánya (60 km northwest), and Szombathely (215 km southwest), in the west of the country, as well as in Pécs (195 km southwest), Szeged (170 km southeast) and Kecskemét (95 km southeast).

In Debrecen (225 km east of Budapest), the country's second-largest city, the rate of investment buyers was 46%.

Sellers also asked for the highest prices from investment buyers in Debrecen: close to HUF 740,000 per sqm.
