Interest in home renovation subsidies strong

Almost two-thirds of Hungarian families raising children say they will "certainly" or "probably" take advantage of home renovation subsidies the government is offering, a representative survey commissioned by OTP Bank and insurer Groupama shows, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
The government launched home renovation subsidies up to HUF 3 million, covering half of project costs, for families with at least one child from the start of 2021. It rolled out subsidized loans to cover the other half of project costs from February 1.
The survey commissioned by OTP and Groupama shows equal interest in the subsidies in cities and in smaller settlements. It also shows that around 80% of those interested live in detached homes.
