Highest Tax Burden on Min Wage Earners in Hungary

According to the annual report of the International Labor Organization (ILO), Hungary has the highest tax burden on minimum wage earners, writes hrportal.hu.

According to another report by the ILO, out of 154 countries and territories, Hungary has the 59th lowest taxation of high-income earners.

The ILO examined the taxation of the minimum wage in 42 countries based on 2019 data.

The researchers were interested in how much of the tax and contribution burden employees pay in each country compared to the gross minimum wage.
