Palocsay took up the role Oct. 1. He brings more than 25 years of experience in commerce, e-commerce and corporate leadership and will focus on strengthening the Düsseldorf-based group’s integrated online and store business model and implementing its regional strategic priorities.
“We are delighted to welcome Géza to Douglas. He brings extensive experience in digital business, strategy and operational excellence, combined with a strong track record of driving transformation and growth,” said Agnieszka Mosurek-Zava, CEO of Douglas Central Eastern Europe, who is responsible for the Central Europe cluster.
“His expertise and leadership will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our position as the leading omnichannel premium beauty destination in Central Europe and advance our omnichannel strategy across the region,” she added.
Before joining Douglas, Palocsay served as strategic director at parcel logistics provider GLS, where he was responsible for operations and strategic initiatives across several Eastern European markets. He also oversaw iLogistic, a Hungarian fulfillment services provider acquired during his tenure.
Previously, he held senior management positions at Árukereső.hu and within the Adevinta Group and contributed to the establishment of the Digital Commerce Association.
Palocsay began his career at Sanoma Média Budapest, holding several commercial leadership positions before becoming online sales director in 2007.
“Drawing on the expertise of my colleagues, I am eager to gain a deep understanding of the beauty industry while leveraging the commercial, digital, and logistics experience I have gained in other sectors to contribute to the achievement of the company’s strategic objectives,” Palocsay said.
“Our shared goal is to further strengthen our market position in the region as a leading omnichannel premium beauty retailer and to provide our customers with an even higher level of customer experience,” he added.
