Tammam joins from Novartis’ U.K. affiliate and brings more than 20 years of pharmaceutical industry experience across several geographic regions.

He joined Novartis’ Egyptian affiliate 15 years ago and has since held a range of senior leadership positions spanning sales, market access, pricing and strategic transformation, contributing to the implementation of the company’s global priorities.

Most recently, Tammam headed the solid tumors business at Novartis’ U.K. affiliate, where he oversaw growth and innovation. His achievements included the launch of a breakthrough therapy for early breast cancer, strengthening Novartis’ position in advanced breast cancer treatment and expanding patient access to radioligand therapies.

“Novartis Hungary is in an excellent position to successfully shape the future: it has an exceptionally talented team, outstanding expertise and knowledge, as well as close partnerships with stakeholders across the health care ecosystem,” Tammam said.

“My goal is to build on these strengths to further expand patient access to innovative medicines and, together with our partners, support the development of a more sustainable, patient-centered Hungarian health care system,” he added.

Following her tenure as managing director of Novartis Hungary, Colette Matz will continue her career at the company’s headquarters in Basel as international head of the breast cancer therapeutic area.
