Poland industrial production, producer prices increase in August

Poland's industrial production grew 13.2% annually in August, following a 9.8% increase in the previous month, data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS) showed on Monday.

Manufacturing output rose 13.3% yearly in August and mining and quarrying output grew 4.1%. Electricity output and water supply gained by 16.1% and 11.7%, respectively.

On a monthly basis, industrial output declined 2.5% in August.

Producer prices grew 9.5% annually in August, following the 8.4% increase in July, separate data from the Warsaw-based statistics agency show. Prices in mining and quarrying grew 17.7% and prices in manufacturing rise 9.7%.

Prices for electricity, gas supply, steam and hot, and water supply, sewerage and waste management prices increased by 4.7% and 4.2%, respectively. On a month-on-month basis, producer prices rose 0.6% in August, after a 1.5% gain in the prior month.
