Hungary’s central bank fines Banif Plus Bank, again

The National Bank of Hungary (MNB) today fined Banif Plus Bank HUF 46 mln on allegations of failing to inform clients of settlements for compensation due under borrowers relief legislation, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.

The central bank fined the bank HUF 18 mln in May and another HUF 49 mln in June after it failed to send notifications to clients on the settlement, MTI said. The MNB said today that Banif Plus Bank had still not informed almost 11,200 clients of the settlement as of early July, according to the news agency.
