MNB fines Banif Plus
The National Bank of Hungary (MNB) on Friday fined Banif Plus Bank HUF 49 mln on charges of violating rules on settlement of compensation due under borrowers relief legislation, the central bank said.
The MNB fined the bank HUF 18 mln in May, after it failed to send more than 35,500 notifications to clients on the settlement, and ordered it to comply with the rules. The MNB said on Friday that Banif Plus Bank had still not informed more than 21,300 clients of the settlement by the end of May.
