The data was presented by Swedish home furnishings retailer IKEA yesterday, based on a representative survey it commissioned from Ipsos in November, according to agroinform.hu.

For their holiday meals, 27% said they would definitely include meat on the menu, and 51% said they occasionally prepare meatless dishes, but this is not their primary concern for meals. Nearly 13% said they prepare meals without meat every year and 8.1% said they do so if they are expecting a vegetarian guest. A little more than 40% said they freeze leftovers and 36% said they try to cook just enough for everything to be eaten.

Around 66% mainly use wrapping paper when preparing gifts and throw it in the garbage straight after the presents are opened. Some 45% use packaging that can be reused next year and 13% said they do not gift-wrap their presents at all.
