The deals cover intelligence sharing, energy supply diversification and regional infrastructure development.
In a Facebook video, Orbán said the talks marked her first official meeting with her U.S. counterpart.
The counterterrorism agreement strengthens joint efforts against extremist and radical left-wing groups, including intelligence sharing to prevent terrorist acts in Hungary and the United States, she said. Orbán cited the far-left group Antifa Ost as an example.
The energy agreement covers cooperation, diversification and infrastructure under the U.S. administration’s Trump Peace Pipelines Framework. The energy and geopolitical initiative aims to improve infrastructure across Central and Southeastern Europe, open alternative supply sources and build a competitive, resilient energy system.
Orbán said Hungary’s objective was to secure stable and sustainable energy supplies for households and businesses at the most competitive possible prices.
Following the signing ceremony, the ministers discussed implementation of both agreements, focusing particularly on energy diversification and Hungary’s role in regional supplies.
Their talks also covered political, economic and security cooperation. Orbán highlighted cooperation within NATO, saying both sides had reaffirmed their commitment to spending 5% of GDP on defense.
The U.S. administration was also following cooperation within the Visegrád Group with interest, she said.
Orbán described the V4 as a regional framework that strengthens both Hungary’s and the region’s standing with other countries. A V4-U.S. meeting had already taken place on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly week in New York, she added.
The sides are building on that meeting with plans for further talks and specific cooperation opportunities, Orbán said.
