The PencilWash™ combines Dyson’s expertise in wet cleaning and focus on hygiene with a pencil-thin format, delivering effortless maneuverability and hygienic cleaning for modern homes.
John Churchill, chief technology officer, Dyson, says, “We’re keen on making machines smaller and lighter while dramatically improving performance. PencilWash™ applies that thinking to wet cleaning: our slimmest, ultra-light format that glides effortlessly and reaches where others can’t. Using hydration, agitation and extraction, it delivers a hygienic clean with fresh water only, supported by our filter-free system. It brings the simplicity of a broom together with the precision and power from Dyson engineering.”
The ultra-slim, lightweight handle, just 38 millimeters in diameter, makes wet cleaning effortless without compromising performance. The Dyson PencilWash™ weighs just 2.2 kilograms, with 380 grams in hand, and is highly maneuverable, steering naturally with a simple twist. It lies flat to 170 degrees to clean under low furniture and tight spaces without losing performance.
Unlike conventional wet and dry cleaners, the PencilWash™ has no filter that would trap dirt, breed bacteria, or emit odors. Its filter-free design eliminates the risk of sludge, blockages, or performance drops, ensuring reliable cleaning every time.
The PencilWash™ features a high-density microfiber roller with 64,000 filaments per cm² that spins rapidly to remove wet and dry debris simultaneously. Dirty water and debris are continuously extracted from the roller on each rotation. Combined with a precision-engineered eight-point hydration system, fresh water is consistently delivered to the roller, ensuring every clean is hygienic.
The PencilWash™ offers two hydration modes for precise control of floor wetness. Users can adjust water flow for light spills or stubborn stains to ensure optimal results with a quick-drying floor finish. The 300 mL clean water tank cleans up to 100 m² of flooring, providing up to 30 minutes of runtime per session.
The Dyson 02 Probiotic hard floor cleaning solution is specially formulated for all Dyson wet and dry cleaners, including the PencilWash™, for optimized cleaning and longer-lasting results. The non-foaming, non-toxic formula deep cleans at a microscopic level, lifting dirt while remaining safe for pets and children.
