The document details how proceeds from the HUF 6.6 billion in green bonds issued in 2021 have been allocated, alongside outlining the group’s next wave of environmentally conscious projects across Central and Eastern Europe.
In line with its broader strategy, the firm says sustainability continues to serve as a cornerstone of AutoWallis’ regional operations. The group, present in 17 countries, says it was the first company listed on the Prime Market of the Budapest Stock Exchange to establish a Green Finance Framework, a benchmark initiative designed to support responsible corporate growth through sustainable investment.
According to the newly published report, which covers the period ending June 30, 2025, AutoWallis has already made decisions on the use of nearly HUF 4.3 bln from the bond proceeds. These investments primarily target energy efficiency upgrades, dealership modernization, and the expansion of low-emission mobility services, underscoring the group’s commitment to green transformation across its business units.
Among the flagship domestic projects, funds were used for the renovation of the Jaguar Land Rover dealership on Váci út, which now boasts an “A++” energy rating. Green bond proceeds also financed the modernization of Sixt’s technical HQ in Vecsés, where the installation of 11 Mode 3 and one dual Mode 4 EV charging stations, and an LED lighting system, have substantially improved energy efficiency and service sustainability.
The company’s sustainability footprint extends beyond Hungary. In Slovenia, significant improvements were realized through building upgrades and energy-saving measures. These include door and window replacements at the Ljubljana Celovška 182 site and lighting modernization at the Trzin and Nova Gorica facilities, which together are expected to reduce overall consumption and emissions.
Additional Green Funding
Looking ahead, AutoWallis is progressing with a significant domestic development led by AW Property Kft., a group member responsible for property projects. The development on Építész utca, which is now entering a new phase following the completion of licensing and planning, will see the construction of a multi-brand dealership and repair center. For this project, the Green Finance Committee has approved an additional HUF 1 bln in green funding, further reinforcing the group’s environmental priorities.
Gábor Székely, the investor relations director of AutoWallis, emphasized that sustainable financing remains a central component of the group’s long-term growth model.
“We are continuously exploring new investment opportunities that enable the effective utilization of previously raised green funds,” Székely said. “Our aim is to enhance the environmental responsibility of our operations while ensuring measurable, transparent progress in sustainability performance.”
By combining innovation, financial discipline, and a clear sustainability vision, AutoWallis continues to position itself at the forefront of green transformation within the regional automotive industry. As the company prepares to launch additional environmentally focused developments in the coming year, its expanding portfolio of projects serves as a model for how listed corporations can translate ESG principles into tangible economic and environmental value.
