Organized by the Hungarian Battery Association and White Paper Consulting, the event has become one of Central Europe’s most significant professional forums for the battery industry.
Now in its fifth year, Hungarian Battery Days will gather representatives of major companies, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss the latest technological trends, regulatory issues, and market developments shaping the global and regional battery ecosystem.
The conference will be opened by Márton Nagy, Minister of National Economy, who will outline the government’s strategic plans for developing Hungary’s battery industry. István Joó, Government Commissioner and CEO of HIPA – the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency, will address the role of international investment in strengthening Hungary’s position as a key European hub for battery manufacturing.
Among the international speakers are Patrick Clerens, secretary general of the European Association for the Storage of Energy (Ease), and Fabrice Stassin, secretary general of the Batteries European Partnership Association (Bepa), who will share insights into European market prospects.
The challenges of the accelerating e-mobility transition will be discussed by Chris Heron (secretary general, Emobility Europe), Johannes Jung and Christian Müller (Grob-Werke GmbH & Co. KG), and Richard Zhang (managing director, EVE Germany), focusing on technological and infrastructure developments ahead.
A key highlight of the program will be a presentation by Shen Feng, managing director of CATL Hungary, who will speak about the role of CATL’s Debrecen plant — one of the most significant foreign investments in Hungary’s energy sector.
The domestic energy market and storage technologies will also be in focus, with contributions from Péter Horváth, CEO of Dunamenti Power Plant (MET Group); Csaba Farkas, group director of Renewable Energy at MOL; Csaba Kiss, deputy CEO of MVM; and Ábel Suri, senior product Manager at Huawei.
The second day of the event, November 7, will feature a site visit to Jász-Plasztik Kft. in Jászberény, Hungary’s largest domestically owned battery recycling and manufacturing company.
Sustainability and circular economy topics will also take center stage. Anita Simon, Deputy CEO of Alteo, will discuss the relationship between sustainable business operations and energy efficiency, while Olaf Rogge, business development manager of BASF Battery Materials, will introduce the concept of a joint European battery recycling ecosystem. Additional perspectives will come from Aleksandar Devčić, CEO of Jedro DS Innovations d.o.o., and Aleksandar Džombić, CEO of Storioin Energy, who will share insights on recycling innovation and circular future challenges.
According to the organizers, the Hungarian Battery Days 2025 aims to provide participants with a comprehensive overview of the industry’s current state and future outlook while offering first-hand insights into practical innovations already being implemented.
