The investment, undertaken by OTP Group’s Mendota Invest, will be completed by the end of 2027. OTP’s chairman, Sándor Csányi, said the lender’s new Slovenian HQ would be part of the development, dubbed Emonika.

Matjaz Han, Slovenia’s economy minister, said the project was a symbol of long-term cooperation between Hungary and Slovenia.

Alenka Bratusek, the infrastructure minister, said Emonika would comprise 187 homes, two hotels, over 35,000 sqm of office space and a 22,500 sqm retail centre.

Rok Znidarsic, Ljubljana’s deputy-mayor, said the capital’s tallest office building would be part of Emonika.
