The Budapest Stock Exchange’s main BUX index finished the session Thursday down 0.37% at 17,247.09, paring gains after US markets opened lower, then slipping into the red in the last minutes of trade.
OTP Bank finished down 0.91% at HUF 3,380 on trades of HUF 9.8bn or about 60% of the HUF 16.3bn session total.
Oil and gas company MOL broke even at HUF 16,900. Turnover of the share was HUF 3.7bn.
Magyar Telekom fell 2.15% to HUF 501 on turnover of HUF 862m.
Drugmaker Richter gained 1.17% to HUF 35,795 on turnover of HUF 1.6bn.
The bourse’s mid-cap BUMIX index fell 0.76% to 1,387.46.
Elsewhere in the region, Warsaw’s WIG 20 was down 1.69% and the Prague PX dropped 0.62%.
Western Europe’s biggest indices were all lower late Thursday. London’s FTSE 100 was down 1.01%, Frankfurt’s DAX fell 1.63% and the CAC 40 in Paris dipped 1.65%.
