Open Studios await visitors during Budapest Design Week

Retail

This yearʼs Budapest Design Week will be held between October 5 and 19, with Open Studios offered as one of the highlights of the event, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary. Visitors can take a glimpse behind the scenes at 15 enterprises, starting from brainstorming all the way through to implementation.

Guests will be able to gain first-hand experience of the creatorsʼ everyday lives during their visit, as designers will receive guests in their own workshops, telling them about their most memorable orders and jobs. Fans of fashion, architecture, ceramics and technology will be able to discover studios to match their tastes.

Enterprises such as Back2Bag, Müskinn and Tipton will show how materials can be recycled to make bags, optical frames and other products, while the Bertoty interior design studio offers a look into the process of designing offices and private homes.

Ceramic artists Enikő Kontor and Ádám Csaba Szabó will receive visitors in their shared workshop. Fashion enthusiasts can choose from workshops by Clique Design Studio, Gabriella Veszprémi, Réka Vágó, and Sarolta Kiss. Brand Bar, DesignDonum Stúdió, Frontìra, LumoConcept, and UX Studió are also open for visitors.

Details about the programs can be found at the eventʼs website designhet.hu. Participation in some of the workshops requires pre-registration.

Budapest Design Week is curated and financed by the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office, and organized by the Hungarian Design Council.

SUPPORT THE BUDAPEST BUSINESS JOURNAL

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.
Newspaper organizations across the globe have struggled to find a business model that allows them to continue to excel, without compromising their ability to perform. Most recently, some have experimented with the idea of involving their most important stakeholders, their readers.
We would like to offer that same opportunity to our readers. We would like to invite you to help us deliver the quality business journalism you require. Hit our Support the BBJ button and you can choose the how much and how often you send us your contributions.
