Szijjártó: Hungary needs foreign investors
Given the need for foreign investors to continue Hungary’s reindustrialization, the government is planning to simplify the system of benefits for foreign companies, Péter Szijjártó, deputy foreign minister designate and an MP of governing party Fidesz, told Gazdasági Rádió yesterday evening.
Under the current system, a company needed 14-16 signatures from more than two different ministries in order to receive cash support, but Szijjártó said that will changed so that companies can apply for support in two simple steps. He did not give details on these steps.
Szijártó said efforts to increase foreign investment also include plans to open new trading houses, perhaps also in the United States, and the creation of a train line bypassing Budapest for the V0 freight rail ring.
