Gov't Supporters Agree With Raising Teacher Wages

Issues

The vast majority of government voters, 78%, would raise teachers' wages, and almost all of the opposition voters (98%), according to a survey from the Publicus Institute, prepared for the left-leaning daily newspaper Népszava.

According to the research, none of the Fidesz-KDNP sympathizers would give a grade worse than a three for this "school year," and only 12% would give an average score.

Some 25% of the opposition would give the year a two, while 14% would give it a one.

The research shows that the large majority of respondents, almost 70%, agree with the demonstrations, which want to draw attention to the poor state of public education.

Nearly 30% of Fidesz voters support the movements.
