The ratio of Hungarians who have firm plans to get vaccinated against COVID-19 or have already received their first jab stands at 62%, according to a weekly survey by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

The rate for the week ended April 18 is up from just 15% when KSH started conducting the surveys in the first week of December.

The latest survey shows 14% of Hungarians say they "may" get inoculated, while another 19% say they won't get a jab. Close to 86% of Hungarians between 65 and 74 say they plan to be vaccinated or have already received their first jab.

KSH attributed the improvement in the public's inclination to get vaccinated to an enhanced information campaign and the progress of the vaccination rollout.
