Jobbik promises free internet
Only few days after Prime Minister Viktor Orbán suspended the internet tax legislation proposed by his party earlier in October, far-right party Jobbik announced free wifi on the main squares of 14 municipalities run by Jobbik.
The nationalist party's intention is to demonstrate that internet is not the enemy but provides opportunities, nol.hu reported on Saturday, quoting Jobbik’s Előd Novák. Novák added that cheaper internet access would encourage working from home, thereby lessening the environmental impact of commuting; he noted that the cost of internet access in Hungary is significantly higher than the EU average.
