Hungary’s government has cleared possible overshoots of the allocations for “managing mass migration” in this and next year’s budgets, a resolution published in the latest issue of the official gazette Magyar Közlöny shows, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

The resolution allows for HUF 22.5 billion in spending over the HUF 1 bln allocation in this year’s budget.

The resolution also mandates HUF 16.8 bln in spending by the Interior Ministry and HUF 14.1 bln in spending by the Defense Ministry for managing mass migration in the 2017 budget. The current allocation for next year stands at just HUF 100 mln.

The resolution seeks to “ensure funding necessary for the management of extraordinary migration pressure”.
