This endorsement adds to Orbán’s track record of vocal support for Trump, whose presidency was marked by a close alignment with the Hungarian Prime Minister’s policies on immigration, national sovereignty, and conservative values.
Orbán has previously described Trump as a strong ally of Hungary’s nationalist policies, in contrast to the current administration, which has often clashed with Orbán’s government over issues like rule of law and democratic standards.
Hungary’s Prime Minister was one of the few world leaders to publicly back Trump in past U.S. elections and has expressed support for the former president’s agenda on multiple occasions.
